week eighteen — a walk in the park

this week’s shot is a throwback to one of my earliest photo adventures, and it serves as a great example of how random photography sometimes is.

i was playing around with composing a shot of a winding, autumn leaf-covered, sidewalk as it curved toward the beach and the lake, and i zoomed in to take a closer look at how the bench could play into the shot…when my friends Lindsay, Anthony, and Roan walked by. they had joined me for this photo adventure, but i had since wandered off, so i was surprised to see them strolling by.

i hesitated a split second before pressing the shutter (was taking this picture too creepy? haha), and that hesitation gave Roan just enough time to turn his head toward me and begin to form an adorable grin. 😀
