week fifty-seven — walking on clouds

“When there’s snow on the ground, I like to pretend I’m walking on clouds.”

i’m sitting in DIA, waiting to board my plane back to Chicago. my second Colorado visit in a month was a resounding success in my book. in addition to seeing lots of family and friends, i was able to soak up some of the Rocky Mountain glory with a hike in the Poudre Canyon shortly after a snowstorm. Chicago gets its share of snow, but it doesn’t feel quite as magical when it seems the only purpose it serves is to wreak havoc on traffic…it’s much more pleasant when it facilitates skiing/snowshoeing/etc…

this one was one of my favorites from the hike (mostly because of the reflections), but i’m really pleased with quite a few of the shots i took, so i’ll likely post the rest on my photo blog soon. keep an eye out!
