30 Days with the Fuji X-T2: Day 24

To complement today’s shot, I want to go back to something I covered very early on in this series: the articulating LCD screen. I’m not an LCD screen shooter – I much prefer the viewfinder – but there are times when the articulating screen really comes in handy. In prior posts, I mentioned how it can help you when you want a really low (or high) point of view, and this image showcases another benefit: It reduces your creepiness factor.
It’s weird to take a picture of a stranger on the street. It’s weirder to take a picture of some kids on the sidewalk (even if it is an adorable scene). And it’s weirder still when they notice you taking a picture of them. Needless to say, I aim to minimize the weirdness. So if I can be casually looking down at my articulated screen on my waist-level camera while sauntering into position for the shot, I’ll take that in a heartbeat over obviously peering through a viewfinder…
