week twenty-nine — the pier
this is another shot from my 24-hour photo adventure from a few weeks ago. as it turns out, if you shoot for 24 straight hours, you end up with a really big stockpile of photos…
for obvious reasons, my photographic eye has always been drawn to the beginning and end of the day. when i first started taking pictures, my tendency was to shoot into the sun itself as it rose/set. as i’ve experimented, i’ve realized that i get much more pleasing results (in my opinion) when i shoot just before the sun rises (or just after it sets). there seems to be a broader array of colors that evoke a more complex emotion during these periods.
